Ohio Museum of Transportation and Industry's
plan for lakefront museum

Plan to exhibit the two remaining Huletts with Steamship Mather

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- In a letter of February 4, 2016, The Ohio Museum of Transportation and Industry has expressed "...our interest in incorporating the two remaining Hulett Ore Unloaders and the William G. Mather Museum in the plan to bring a new and exciting museum to the North Coast of Ohio.
"The Hulett Ore Unloaders and the William G. Mather are both important historical components of Ohio's industrial heritage and we hope to incorporate them into a campus located near the North Coast Harbor."

Concurring with OMTI, The Committee to Save Cleveland's Huletts stated, "We are excited to announce, to all parties in this process, that the Ohio Museum of Transportation and Industry (OMTI) has approached us directly regarding their visionary project, which includes acquiring the two Huletts and making them part of their master plan. Their proposal would preserve and reconstruct the two Huletts, and would also incorporate a permanent relocation solution for the Steamship William G. Mather Museum, thereby opening up the North Coast Harbor for the envisioned plan by the City’s chosen developers."
